Andrzej Szornak – Management Board Member

Andrzej Sztornak graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin and the Warsaw School of Economics. He has worked professionally since 1992. He started his banking career in 1995 at PKO BP as a credit analyst. In 1997, he started to work for the Polish-American Mortgage Bank as a Manager of the Project Financing Team and in 1999 for Kredyt Bank. Between 2002 and 2006, he worked for BACA Group in Poland as a Department Director in HVB Bank Hipoteczny SA and Bank BPH SA. In September 2006, he was appointed Vice President of the Management Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. Between 2006-2007, he served on the Supervisory Board of the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency. While applying for the position of the Vice President of BGK Management Board in September 2006, he received positive recommendation of the National Banking Supervision Authority. He was dealing with financing of entities operating on the real property market. For a couple of years, while working for a number of banks, he was responsible for building investor relations on the real property market and for development and implementation of credit procedures with respect to services for real estate developers specializing in residential and/or commercial premises. He started and successfully implemented the “Rodzina na swoim” financing programme while working at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. He is interested in contemporary history and promotion of history in general. He is the Chairman of Tomasz Strzembosz Foundation on a voluntary basis, established in order to promote contemporary history and scientific achievements of young historians.
